Old Camel Cigarette Ads: How Things Changed

Back in the 40's through the 70's, Camel cigarettes (among other manufacturers) had so much freedom to advertise their products.

Winston did an ad during the Flintstones show, where Fred and Barney would be shown smoking and praising the taste... and this was a kid's show (more or less).

Even Camel TV ads claimed that doctors smoked Camel's more than any other brand:



I love Camel... seriously underrated in this part of the world. In Kuwait you get the non-US variety (very clean look, no Turkish tobacco) and only comes in standard, mild, and lights, which is made in Germany or Switzerland and not the USA.

I thought sharing old Camel ads would be a nice retro look at an industry that's had so much controversy:
