Jimmy Rogers Records "That's All Right" 62 Years Ago


In 1950, Jimmy Rogers recorded this blues classic for Chess Records. It was also his first solo recording for the label.

It was recorded similarly to what Muddy Waters was doing; Ernest "Big" Crawford on bass, Little Walter on harmonica, and Jimmy singing and playing the guitar. Pure simplicity!

Rogers was most well known for being in Muddy Waters band; but he eventually went on his own for a while. He died in 1997 and was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame in 1995.
