John Coltrane and Johnny Hartman was recorded on March 7, 1963 in one day.
It's the first time Coltrane recorded an album with a singer as a band leader.
The musicians are all from 'Trane's Classic Quartet (Jones, Garrison, Tyner) and feature great ballad vocals by Johnny Hartman.
