Today is
"Día de los Muertos" (Day of the Dead) in Mexico, celebrated to honor and remember dead family members and friends.
Over time the celebration (while it looks like a lot of voodoo shit) takes on a more humorous and joyous tone (as seen in the pic). Many trinkets like those Catarina dolls are now sold on this festival.
